1. Introduction
Capy Days is a personal journaling, habit-tracking, and wellness application that helps users build routines, reflect on their day, and track personal progress over time.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Capy Days collects, how it is used, how it is stored, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using Capy Days, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
This Policy applies to the Capy Days iOS application and any related services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
Email address — used to create and manage your account, authenticate you when you sign in, and send password-reset emails.
2.2 Journal Content
Information you voluntarily enter, including:
- Mood ratings
- Gratitude entries
- To-do entries
- "Looking forward to" entries
- "Next small step" entries
- "Something I appreciate about myself" entries
- Daily prompt responses
- Free-write entries
2.3 Habit and Task Data
- Habit names, stacks, schedules, and frequency, including daily or weekly frequency and selected weekday
- Daily tasks and their completion status
2.4 Progress and History Data
The following information is derived from the data you enter and is used to power in-app features:
- Habit and journal streaks
- Weekly completion percentages and reflections
- Mood insights
- Calendar history
2.5 App Preferences
- Notification on/off setting
- Reminder time
- Notification privacy preference, including whether lock-screen previews are hidden
2.6 Device and Notification Information
If you enable reminders, Capy Days uses your device's local notification system to schedule daily reminders at the time you select.
Capy Days does not currently collect or store a push-notification device token for these reminders.
2.7 Information We Do Not Collect
Capy Days does not collect precise location data, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, browsing history, or advertising identifiers.
Capy Days does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to operate Capy Days features.
- Save and sync your journal entries, habits, and tasks across your sessions
- Calculate habit and journal streaks, completion percentages, and mood insights
- Display your journal and habit history on the in-app calendar
- Send daily reminder notifications if you enable them
- Authenticate you and secure your account
- Restore data from backup files you choose to import
- Respond to support requests
Capy Days does not sell your personal information and does not use your information for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes.
4. How We Store and Protect Your Information
Your account and app data are stored using Supabase, a cloud backend platform providing authentication and database services.
Data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
Access to your data is restricted to your authenticated account through database access rules designed to prevent one user from accessing another user's data.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your data may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States.
By using Capy Days, you consent to this transfer.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and app data for as long as your account remains active, so your information is available whenever you sign in.
Account Deletion
You may permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account.
This permanently removes your account and all associated data, including journal entries, moods, habits, tasks, completion history, and preferences.
This action cannot be undone.
Inactive Accounts
If you stop using Capy Days without deleting your account, your data remains stored and associated with your account.
Exported and Backup Files
These files exist only where you choose to save them.
Deleting your Capy Days account does not delete copies you have already exported.
You are responsible for deleting any exported files you no longer want.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Access & Update
View and edit your journal entries, habits, and tasks directly within the app at any time.
Export
Export your journal entries as a JSON file from Settings.
Backup & Restore
Create a full backup of your data, or restore a compatible backup file, from Settings.
Notifications
Enable or disable daily reminders and set your preferred reminder time from Settings.
You can also manage notification permissions in your device's iOS Settings.
Notification Privacy
Hide detailed reminder content from your lock screen from Settings.
Password
Request a password-reset email at any time.
Delete Your Account
Permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings.
Regional Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
These may include the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing.
You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app. For anything else, contact us using the information in Section 11.
8. Children's Privacy
Capy Days is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
9. Apple App Store Disclosures
Capy Days data collection practices are also disclosed in its App Store Privacy information in accordance with Apple's requirements.
Capy Days does not use data for tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, and no App Tracking Transparency permission prompt is shown.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Capy Days, applicable law, or our data practices.
The "Effective Date" above will be updated whenever changes are made.
Material changes will be highlighted in-app or via email where appropriate.
Continued use of Capy Days after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
